Sugar syrup is a great addition to any cold beverage and an essential part of cocktail. Making it, however is not as simple as it sounds.

  • 500 gr sugar
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 lemon peal


  1. In a pot mix the water and the sugar.
  2. Add the lemon peal.
  3. Bring to boil and add a thermometer.
  4. Watch until the temperature reaches 105 C (221F).
  5. Remove and let cool down to 30 C (86F).


  • Use a candy thermometer for best results.
