A Fresh Look, a New Logo, and a Long-Overdue Hello!

Well, hello again!

First of all, thank you for stopping by Nerd Meets Food! Whether you’re a longtime reader returning after a few years or someone discovering this little corner of the internet for the first time, welcome!

If you’ve been here before, you may have noticed that things have been rather quiet. In fact, it’s been nearly five years since my last post. Five years! That’s practically an eternity in internet time.

So, what happened?

Well, life happened!

Between work, family, and everything else that comes with everyday life, finding the time to sit down, write, edit, and publish new articles became increasingly difficult. The cooking never stopped, though, and neither did my curiosity about food and the science behind it.

While the website was taking a rather extended nap, I’ve continued sharing my culinary adventures on TikTok and Instagram. Both have remained fairly active, so if you’d like to see what I’ve been cooking, experimenting with, or occasionally making a mess of in the kitchen, I’d love for you to follow me there!

A New Look for Nerd Meets Food

As you’ve probably already noticed, Nerd Meets Food has undergone a pretty significant makeover!

I’ve completely revamped the website, giving it a cleaner, simpler, and more modern appearance. The goal was to make it easier to navigate, more enjoyable to read, and less cluttered with unnecessary features.

The content you know is still here. The recipes, articles, experiments, and food adventures haven’t gone anywhere. They’ve simply moved into a much nicer home.

And then there’s the new logo!

I have to admit, I’m particularly excited about this one. The old logo served me well, but I felt it was time for something fresh. The new design is simpler, more playful, and, in my opinion, a much better representation of what Nerd Meets Food is all about: bringing together my love of cooking, science, and a healthy dose of curiosity.

Our resident chef and scientist have apparently been working overtime on the redesign, although judging by the state of their workbench, I’m not entirely convinced they know what they’re doing!

A Little Help from Artificial Intelligence

One of the biggest challenges I’ve always faced with maintaining this website wasn’t coming up with ideas or finding things to cook. It was everything that came afterward.

Writing an article is one thing. Editing it, proofreading it, formatting it, selecting images, and getting everything ready for publication is another story entirely.

And frankly, that was often the part that slowed me down.

Fortunately, technology has changed quite a bit over the past five years.

With tools like ChatGPT and other AI assistants, I can now get help with some of the most time-consuming aspects of publishing, particularly editing and polishing my writing.

That doesn’t mean the recipes, experiences, or opinions will be generated out of thin air. The cooking, experimentation, observations, and ideas will still be mine. AI will simply help me turn those thoughts into something a little more readable without spending an entire evening fixing my grammar!

As someone who has always enjoyed the intersection of science and technology, I find this development particularly exciting.

And hopefully, it means you’ll be hearing from me a lot more often.

Here’s to a New Chapter!

So, once again, thank you for visiting Nerd Meets Food.

I’m genuinely excited to breathe some new life into this website, revisit some old favorites, and share new recipes, kitchen experiments, product recommendations, book reviews, and whatever other food-related curiosities happen to catch my attention.

Take a look around, explore the refreshed site, and feel free to revisit some of the older articles. You might even discover something you missed the first time!

And don’t forget to follow along on TikTok and Instagram for more frequent updates from my kitchen.

The website may look different, but the philosophy remains the same: good food, a little science, and plenty of curiosity.

Thanks for coming back, enjoy your stay, and please visit often!
